Dionne Carter, Commissioner

Dionne Carter is the Manager of Diversity at Lee Memorial Health System since January 2003. She is responsible for d eveloping, directing and implementing a comprehensive diversity strategy for Lee Memorial Health System, the largestcommunity-owned healthcare system in Southwest Florida with three acute care hospitals, a children’s hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, a home health agency, a skilled nursing facility, outpatient centers, a large primary care practice group, 6,800 employees, 3,100 volunteers, and 910 physicians on staff.

Dionne received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Health Administration. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Health Care Executives, the American Hospital Association Institute for Diversity, SWFL Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and United Way Allocations Committee.

In addition to being a Commissioner for the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers, Dionne also serves as a Board Member for the Dr. Piper Center for Social Services.
